Safe buying and selling

Buyer Tips:
• Choose payment / shipping options that are as secure as possible (e.g. cash on delivery). Cash transfers are not recommended. These services are often misused by fraudsters because the payments are not traceable. No transfers to accounts from abroad.

• Ideally, check the goods personally and pay when they are picked up.

• Let the seller give you all the information about the guarantee, condition and functionality of the goods.

• Insist on a sales contract for expensive items such as cars. Check the associated documents for correctness and completeness.

Seller Tips:
• Do not send the goods until the agreed purchase price has been credited to your account. When paying via PayPal, check directly in your account whether the payment has been received successfully.

• Only use photos that you have taken yourself for your sales advertisements. Just because photos are freely available on the Internet doesn't mean that you can use them as you like. All photos, both by professionals and laypeople, are protected by copyright in Switzerland. If you do not have the consent of the copyright holder to publish a third-party photo, you are committing a copyright infringement.

• Save data and message history. Save message flows if it is not a pickup. In the event of problems, you will then have evidence that you can present in the event of a dispute.

• Sometimes it is not possible to collect the goods in person. Have shipping options and costs confirmed by email.

Tip for both sides:
The goods are handed over directly on site from the seller to the buyer against cash payment. On site, the goods can be checked / shown again from both sides in order to rule out claims / problems (e.g. defects) later. In the case of a larger purchase amount, the goods should be examined and payment should be made by bank / post transfer and the transfer should be recorded in writing (if necessary in the purchase contract).
